System Requirements
Ensure your Android device meets these requirements before installing:
- OS: Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later; Android 8.0+ recommended
- RAM: 2 GB minimum; 3 GB+ recommended for smooth 4K playback
- Storage: 200 MB free for app installation; 1 GB+ recommended for cache
- Processor: Quad-core 1.5 GHz or better
- Internet Speed: 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K
- Connection: Wi-Fi recommended; 4G/5G LTE supported for on-the-go viewing
- Account: Active Smarter Stream TV subscription with M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials
Installation Steps
-
Install IPTV Smarters Pro from the Play Store — Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for IPTV Smarters Pro. Tap Install and wait for the download and installation to complete. The app is free to install and will connect to your Smarter Stream TV subscription.
-
Launch the App — Open IPTV Smarters Pro from your app drawer. On the first launch, you’ll see a welcome screen and a prompt to add your service.
-
Tap “Add User” — On the main screen, tap the Add User button. A dialog will appear asking how you’d like to add your service. You have two options: Xtream Codes API or M3U URL.
-
Enter Your Xtream Codes Credentials — Select Login with Xtream Codes API for the best experience. Enter a display name (e.g., “Smarter Stream TV”), then copy and paste your Server URL, Username, and Password from the welcome email you received from us. Tap Add User to confirm.
-
Wait for the Playlist to Load — The app will connect to our servers and download your complete channel list, VOD library, and EPG data. This typically takes 30–90 seconds on a good connection. You’ll see a progress indicator during this process.
-
Explore Your Content — Once loaded, you’ll see tabs for Live TV, Movies, Series, and Catch-Up TV. Tap Live TV to see your channel groups. Popular categories include Sports, News, Entertainment, and Kids.
-
Set Up Your Favourites — Long-press on any channel and select Add to Favourites to create a personalised list. You can also create custom playlist groups to organise channels by genre or language.
-
Configure the Player — Go to Settings > Player and select your preferred player. The built-in player is recommended, but you can also use VLC or MX Player if you have them installed. Adjust buffer size if you experience any playback issues.
-
Enable Parental Controls (Optional) — If you share the device with children, navigate to Settings > Parental Controls and set a PIN to restrict access to adult content categories.
-
Test Your Connection — Tap any live channel to start streaming. The channel should begin playing within 2–5 seconds. If you experience buffering, check your Wi-Fi signal strength or switch to a different network.
Troubleshooting
App not found on Play Store: In some regions, the app may be listed under a slightly different name. Try searching for “IPTV Smarters” or “Smarters Player Lite”. Alternatively, download the APK directly from iptvsmarters.com and install it manually — you’ll need to enable Install from Unknown Sources in your Android security settings first.
Login credentials not working: Triple-check that there are no leading or trailing spaces in your username, password, or server URL. Our server URLs do not use www. prefixes. If you’re still having trouble, reset your credentials from the Smarter Stream TV customer portal.
Video stutters or buffers constantly: First run a speed test to confirm you have sufficient bandwidth. If speed is adequate, try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or vice versa) to rule out network issues. Also try enabling hardware acceleration in the app’s player settings.
App crashes on opening: Clear the app’s cache and data in Settings > Apps > IPTV Smarters Pro > Storage > Clear Cache. If it still crashes, uninstall, restart your device, and reinstall.
Channels showing wrong EPG data: Go to Settings > EPG Settings and force a manual EPG refresh. Ensure your device’s date and time are set to automatic/network time.
Device FAQ
Smarter Stream TV works on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and above. However, for the best performance and smooth 4K playback, we recommend Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later. Most IPTV apps on the Play Store also require Android 5.0 as the minimum version.
Offline downloads depend on the IPTV app you use. Some apps like GSE Smart IPTV support recording of live streams to local storage if your device has sufficient space. However, VOD content from Smarter Stream TV is streamed live and cannot be cached for offline playback due to content licensing restrictions.
You can cast to any Chromecast, Google TV, or Android TV device using the Cast button within most IPTV apps. Alternatively, use screen mirroring through your TV's built-in Miracast support. For the best quality, we recommend installing the app directly on your Smart TV or streaming device rather than casting from a phone.
Android's screen timeout setting applies even during video playback in some IPTV apps. Go to Settings > Display > Screen Timeout and set it to a longer duration, or download a 'Keep Screen On' app. Some IPTV apps also have a built-in setting to prevent screen timeout — check the app's sleep settings.
We provide full support for third-party IPTV players on Android, with IPTV Smarters Pro being our top recommendation as it is purpose-built for our Xtream Codes API. Your welcome email contains direct download links and setup credentials. We are working on a dedicated branded app that will be available soon.
